Logo Design Contest & T-Shirt Design Contest
The ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Students Chapters are looking for a new logo. We are also looking for new designs for our Chapters and Chapters Party t-shirts! The winning design(s) will appear on official SIGGRAPH 2005 Chapters t-shirts and paraphernalia. In addition, each person who submits a winning design will win a copy of the SIGGRAPH 2005 SOMA Conference DVD set for their chapter’s library. Finally, the winning designs will be featured on the chapters web site earning you the life-long respect and gratitude of an impressive worldwide network of Professional and Student Chapters ;)
Submission Details
Why Submit:
- The winning person’s biography (and picture, if desired) will appear on the ACM SIGGRAPH Chapters homepage alongside recognition of the winning designs.
- The chosen designs will appear on official ACM SIGGRAPH Chapters t-shirts and promotional items distributed at SIGGRAPH 2005 and to Chapters worldwide.
- The Chapters that are Finalists for the winning logo and t-shirt designs will receive a SOMA SIGGRAPH 2004 Conference Presentations DVD-ROM set, valued at just under $400.00 USD. The DVD-ROM set features six discs with presentations from the Papers, Courses, Sketches, Web Graphics, Panels and Special Sessions. For complete details, please visit:

Who can Apply:
- The competition is open to all ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapters members.
- Submissions by a single person, as well as collaborations between multiple people, will be accepted. However, team submissions can only be made if all team members belong to the same Chapter.
- A person can submit designs to the t-shirt contest (Chapters t-shirt and/or Party t-shirt) as well as the logo contest.
- All entries must be the original work of the contributor(s). No submissions may be copied, wholly, substantially or partially from any other work.
Notification:
- The three finalist designs will be announced on the Chapters homepage on or around June 1, 2005. The winning design will be revealed at the SIGGRAPH 2005 conference in Los Angeles. The contributors of the three finalist designs will be informed by email of their placement in the contest.
- The PSCC will work with the winning person to prepare the final artwork for production.
- When they are submitted, all entries become the property of ACM and ACM SIGGRAPH. Submissions will not be returned.
- All persons involved in the creation of the top three designs will be credited on the ACM Chapters website with a short bio (and picture, if desired).
- A person cannot claim or demand any compensation for having his/her picture displayed on any Chapter websites.
Submission Format/Specifications:
- Adobe Illustrator 9.0 file or EPS file (Mac or PC)
- All submissions must include a copy of the design with text converted to outlines.
- Persons are required to supply their full name, valid email address, and name and location of the Chapter they belong to along with their submission.
Logo design details:
- Preferred designs will be a variation on the current ACM SIGGRAPH organizational logo. However, the jury is open to all designs.
- For the ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapter’s logo design, save your entry using the following filename format: "firstname_lastname-chapters-logo"
T-shirt design details:
- Color of t-shirt can be white, black or other dark color.
- Limit design to front and back of shirt (nothing on sleeves)
- Limit of 6-8 Pantone Matching System (PMS) colors on front
- Limit of 1-3 PMS colors on back
- For Chapters Party t-shirt: include space for names of sponsors on back of t-shirt
- For Chapter t-shirt: include space for names of the ACM SIGGRAPH Professional and Student Chapters on back of t-shirt
- T-shirts should include the following text:

- For Chapters Party t-shirt design, save your entry using the following filename format:

- If you submit designs for both shirts, they should share a common look & feel, if not the exact same design on the front
